It was a snowy and very cold afternoon for John + Kelly’s engagement session here in New Albany! These two live in Charlotte and were home for the holidays visiting Kelly’s family. We met up for coffee to talk about their wedding and grabbed some quick photos outside. Seriously, all of these shots were done within minutes! They braved the freezing temps and it was so worth it. Darren and I can’t wait to fly down to North Carolina for their wedding in June!
Ben + Whitney's wedding at Oak Grove was incredibly sweet, emotional and intimate. Their morning ceremony was beautiful as the sunny glow shined through the greenhouse. They said their 'I do's' to one another and made vows to their daughter, Gracie. My goodness, there was not a dry eye around! The images truly show just how loving their ceremony was.
There were so many sweet moments that made it an unforgettable wedding for us as photographers! Whitney surprised Ben during their first dance by singing the first part of the song. I LOVED this moment! Also, their reception was early in the afternoon and was full of tacos, churros, laughs and joyful tears! Speeches were open to all of their family and friends which was such a great idea for a smaller, intimate wedding.
It's a funny story how I met this couple. I was photographing an engagement session last Fall when I first noticed Ben + Whitney popping champagne and celebrating their engagement. Ben had proposed just minutes before we saw them at Frank Fetch Park. After my session, I walked over and offered to take photos of this moment for them. Ben and Whitney were ecstatic. We exchanged information and I sent them their gallery of images. They booked me instantly and we all agreed that our paths were meant to cross for a reason! It's such a fun and special memory that started our relationship and I am so thankful to have them as one of my Susie Marie couples!
Ryan + Maddy's wedding was the start to an awesome double header wedding weekend! Their wedding was last Friday and the ceremony took place at Church of the Resurrection in New Albany. Darren and I were really excited to finally photograph at my church, since we will be getting married there too, in exactly one year from today!
This sweet wedding was a ton of fun to photograph. Maddy and her siblings grew up in the same town as I did and we went to the same school growing up. I always love photographing in New Albany!
Their reception was downtown at Dock 580. I just love this venue. The exposed brick and twinkly lights always look perfect in photos. The speeches were my favorite part of the evening. It may be true that these two are opposites (Maddy the professional ballerina and Ryan the country boy who loves to hunt) but it couldn't be more clear that these two were made for each other! I wish Ryan + Maddy the happiest of lives together and hope that they are enjoying their honeymoon together right now!
