Wedding Update! | May 2017

I am so excited about this wedding update! Last week, I finally asked my bridesmaids / flower girls, AND tried on dresses with my mom! This is such a fun time and I am enjoying every moment of being engaged. Having a long engagement has definitely allowed Darren and I to take our time with planning and I cannot believe we are so close to one year away!

Below are the boxes that I created to ask each of my bridesmaids to be in the wedding. I loved making these! The personalized cookies are from Jana Lee's Bake Shop and the knot earrings are from the sweetest small business, Seaside Jems. I made the boxes to match our wedding colors and overall style! Bring on all the light blue details and greenery! (Yes, this also matches my photography brand...and apartment!) All 10 bridesmaids officially said yes- yay!

I also included some photos from my appointment at B.Loved Bridal Boutique. I absolutely adore the owner Lesley. She made my first experience dress shopping the best. I took just my mom this first time and loved sharing this memory with her! The dresses here are stunning. Brides, if you are looking to set up an appointment definitely check out this boutique!

Lastly, I have photos from the flower girl shoot that I did with my two little nieces a few weeks ago! I needed these photos because I made a puzzle with our picture for them to put together. Okay, I guess Sadie was really the one to put it together, but Stella sure enjoyed eating the cookies! I can't wait to have my two little goddaughters walk down the isle right before me!

A Weekend in Fort Myers | March 2017

The first weekend of March was spent down in Fort Myers, Florida and it was a much needed mini vacation away from the cold of Ohio! Darren and I will be photographing a wedding here in December so decided to fly down now to view the church and venue plus scope out spots to photograph. Let me tell you, this trip has made me SO excited to come back here at the end of the year!

Lover's Key State Park is where Scott and Melissa's venue is and their outdoor reception on the beach is going to be gorgeous! Ahh, I just can't wait for this destination wedding. Take a peek into our warm weekend away!

Outer Banks 2016 + WE'RE ENGAGED!

A few weeks ago, I traveled to Corolla, North Carolina with the Chappelear fam! I always look forward to our family trips to the Outer Banks, spending time with my favorite people and making new memories. From the amazing seafood, wild horses on the beach and beautiful beach houses, this place has my heart. Little did I know, this place would have my heart for a very different reason by the end of the trip!

It was the Tuesday of our vacation and we spent the day celebrating my niece's birthday along with my parents' 30th wedding anniversary. My parents and I had planned to do a photo shoot that evening on the beach and I told the rest of the family to get dressed so we can take a full family photo as well! Everyone walked down the boardwalk from our beach house and lined up to take the photo. Just moments later, Darren walked over to me and with tears in his eyes got down on one knee and the rest was a total blur! He managed to surprise my entire family as well as myself! He had planned to do it when everyone was around and he chose the most gorgeous evening for it! It was so special that he proposed on my parent's anniversary also. June 21st is a day to celebrate! My nieces' and nephews' reactions were my favorite. The kids have been asking him for years (literally!) when he was going to propose and they were SO excited. They called him Uncle Darren for the rest of the trip!

Now.. the ring. It is beyond perfect. The diamond in my ring came from his Great Auntie Jean's ring. He knows how much family history means to me and the fact he wanted to use something that was passed down is amazing. I just love it so much! It was so special and his whole family was excited to see how it turned out on the new setting!

This trip was beyond perfect and Darren + I are so thankful for everyone's love and support over the last few weeks! We are so excited to finally plan our own wedding after photographing so many together! Below are my favorite moments captured!
